The Systems Administrator is a fulltime position at MRA’s corporate office located in Franklin, TN. The Systems Administrator will assist in the general day-to-day management of the Windows infrastructure, monitor the organization’s Windows environment and provide tier 2 technical support.  This role will utilize confidence and be a highly organized self-starter. Demonstrating an ability and willingness to learn new skills and keep current with the latest hardware and software technologies is key to this role. The Systems Administrator will need to demonstrate the ability to analyze and resolve problems and be assertive in presenting solutions while at the same time communicating effectively demonstrating a high level of customer service to end-users. This role is responsible for developing logging, metrics and reporting programs to facilitate performance, security monitoring and predictive analysis.   The successful candidate in this role will be able to demonstrate hands on experience with imaging computers, Printers and Printer Services, remote support tools, and troubleshooting/installing Microsoft XP/Win7,Win10, Office 2010-2016 and experience with Microsoft Active Directory as well as experience managing and administrating WMware/Vcenter. The Systems Administrator will be expected to maintain confidentiality and make no attempts to access confidential data and not disclose Protected Health Information (PHI).  This role will participate as member of the IT team on rotation for after-hours and on-call support. Projects and other tasks will be assigned as needed.

Essential duties and responsibilities: 

  • Provide Tier 2 end user support for hardware problems for a variety of devices including but not limited to desktop computers, laptop computers, printers/copiers, and other computer related peripherals
  • Provide Tier 2 end user support for software problems including operating system, productivity tools such as Microsoft Office, and other third party software such as TrendMicro, Adobe, Java, etc
  • Manage, sort, and track service requests, ensuring proper recording, documentation and closure in help desk tracking system
  • Develop, support and administer Information Technology Security Frameworks, including Policies, Procedures, Standard Work Instructions, SOC2, and overall security controls
  • Manage and monitor IT systems infrastructure performance, security and any processes related to those systems. Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all client/server/storage/network devices
  • Ensure security remediation on Windows Servers including vulnerability remediation, analyzing security scan results, baselining servers to security templates and performing impact analysis of resultant system configuration changes
  • Perform administration tasks in Active Directory and Exchange, maintaining security account access and authorizations for new and existing end-users, groups and Organization Units
  • Create/Modify: Login Scripts, Group Policies, Scheduled Tasks, PowerShell Scripts
  • Maintain and Administer Desktop/Laptop encryption application
  • Perform basic administrative tasks in the VOIP phone system
  • Create documentation on standard support resolutions and publishes this documentation accordingly for future reference
  • Manage Email SPAM filtering and virus protection applications
  • Perform data backup/recovery for Windows systems, critical applications and VMware utilizing Veeam and other enterprise solutions
  • Deploy, monitor and maintain Virtual Servers within the VMware environment
  • Perform routine patching for Desktops and Servers utilizing WSUS and other enterprise solution.


  • 3-5 years of technical Systems Administration experience
  • Requires Associate’s degree in an IT-related field or comparable relevant work experience.  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related MIS discipline preferred
  • Requires  minimum  4 years Windows Server and Active Directory configuration and administration
  • Requires minimum 4 years VMware VSphere infrastructure
  • Requires experience managing Microsoft Group Policies
  • Requires experience with SAN based replication / Snapshot technologies and SAN administration (Nimble)
  • Requires knowledge of data backup and recovery operations (Veeam)

Additional job knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Experience working with various hospital systems such as HMS, Meditech, McKesson, Affinity, IDX, Bulldog, Eclipsys, Epic, Cerner, Keane, etc. would be a plus
  • Previous experience with scripting languages e.g. PowerShell, VBscript, & .Bat preferred
  • Previous administration experience in Microsoft SharePoint, OpenText RightFax, and VOIP phone system, Google Postini or Barracuda Web Filter a plus
  • Requires knowledge of networking services: DHCP, DNS, IIS, CIFS, SMTP, SFTP, HTTP, TCP/IP networking and internet routing troubleshooting skills
  • Requires experience with SAN based replication / Snapshot technologies and SAN administration (Nimble)
  • Experience with regulatory and legislative authorities including but not limited to CJIS, HIPAA, PCI, and PII preferred
  • Basic administration of SQL Server (Queries, Backup/Restore etc. Is a plus
  • Experiencing administering GlobalScape EFT Server (SFTP) is a plus
